This project for a 2-family coastal residence is located on a stunning half-acre plot within a first-row ocean-front compound on Galu Beach. The design is an investigation into environmentally responsive residential design, balancing a tight-site with 2 dwellings, with flexible occupation options, and mitigating on-site privacy by adopting a “linear courtyard” housing typology with detached pavilions that provide degrees of privacy within - and between - the 2 dwellings.
